Spike Lee is gearing up to release his latest project, Red Hook Summer. The film follows a young boy from Atlanta as he travels to Brooklyn to spend the summer with his preacher grandfather.

Red Hook Summer stars newcomer Jules Brown as the young Flik Royale and Clarke Peters from The Wire as Bishop Enoch Rouse.

The film most recently secured a distributor via Variance Films after making a splashy debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

Red Hook Summer is slated to debut in New York theaters on August 10. There's no word on when it will be released nationwide.
