Last night President Obama stepped out from behind his desk at the Oval Office and into the spotlight to slow jam the news with Jimmy Fallon.
Together, with the lights down low and The Roots keeping the tempo, the two talked about the student loan crisis in America. According to the President, on July 1, the interest rate for Stafford student loans are going to double. “Some hard working students will be paying about $1000 extra just to get their education. So I’ve called on Congress to prevent this from happening,” said Obama. “Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people.”
This wasn’t the first time the First Family teamed up with Jimmy Fallon. Just a few weeks ago, Michelle Obama competed in a White House physical fitness competition with the late night host. Also, Mrs. Obama was named the most televised First Lady in history, yesterday.
