Tracee Ellis Ross Lands Role on 'Bad Girls'

The Girlfriends actress will play Rachel, an imprisoned business woman, in Bad Girls.

Actress Tracee Ellis Ross is headed to jail.

The hair icon has landed a role in NBC's newest drama, Bad Girls, according to Deadline.com.

Ross is set to play Rachel, a powerful woman serving time for selling phony mortgages. Unfortunately, in the show, she's waited so long to have kids that now she's desperate to have one.

Madame Noire reports that Journee Smolett, Rick Gonzalez and Zoe Boyle will also star in the TV drama, which was adapted form a UK version.

Things are really looking up for Black actresses in Hollywood. Vanessa Williams just landed a gig on a new ABC pilot, 666 Park, and Angela Bassett nabbed a new a role on a yet untitled teen spy drama coming soon to FOX.
