Melanie Fiona’s single “4AM” has quietly been heating up R&B charts for the past few months. And now the Canadian-born singer is ready to give listeners her all with a new sophomore album titled The MF Life (out March 20). The Grammy winner shared two singles from the album with ESSENCE.com.

For “I’ve Been That Girl” Fiona gets a little help from fellow Canuck, rapper Drake, who wrote the track produced by T-Minus (Drake, Lil Wayne). Listen as Fiona warns her friend about giving her everything to a destructive relationship that will only end up hurting her.
