Whitney Houston Is Buried Next to Father

Eight days after passing, Whitney Houston was laid to rest with a private burial in Westfield, New Jersey, on Sunday, February 18.

The pop icon was buried next to her father, John Russell Houston, Jr., at the Fairview Cemetery. Houston was lowered into her final resting place during a private service, surrounded by her closest friends and family.

On Saturday, celebrities such as Tyler Perry, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Stevie Wonder, Kevin Costner and Oprah Winfrey attended Houston’s funeral at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, where Houston first sang in the choir as a little girl.
