In Our Heads About Our Hair - Trailer from Hemamset Angaza on Vimeo.
Whenever the topic of Black women and our hair arises, there is a downpour of discourse on why we have such strong opinions about our hair and what those views mean in the Black community.
A new documentary, "In Our Heads About Our Hair" tackles the age-old subject of Black women and our relationship with our hair and explores how our self-esteem is directly affected by the strands on our head.
The film was produced by Anu Prestonia, Maitefa Angaza and Paulette Maat Kesa Tabb and will be presented at the Brooklyn Art Museum's New Voices in Black Cinema Film Festival next month.
