Born Eric Bishop in Terrell, Texas, Foxx originally made a name for himself on the '90s comedy sketch show, "In Living Color." From there, he went on to nab his own series, "The Jamie Foxx Show," which lasted five strong years. After that, he branched out to movies, appearing in "Any Given Sunday," "Ali" and more before landing the role of a lifetime as Ray Charles in "Ray."
Portraying the legendary Ray Charles won Foxx an Oscar for Best Actor. He was also honored by the Screen Actors Guild, British Academy of Film and Television, NAACP and more.
Not only is Foxx a talented actor, he's also accomplished in the music world. In 2005, he released his debut album, "Unpredictable," which earned him several Grammy nominations. Since then, he's released one more studio album and is said to be working on a follow-up, according to his official website.
Above all, this funnyman has won over our hearts and given us countless laughs -- and for that we're forever grateful.
Join us in wishing Hollywood heavy hitter Jamie Foxx a happy 44th birthday!
