Taraji P. Henson's Advice to Actors: Reality TV 'Not the Way'

If you’re an actor hoping to launch your career with a reality TV show Taraji P. Henson has a message for you – it’s not the way! In a recent interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, the Oscar-nominated actress warned wanna-be actors that reality TV doesn’t lead to acting roles.

“Reality TV is not the way. I mean, you can. It works for some,” she told the magazine.

Instead Taraji, who currently stars on new CBS show “Person of Interest,” recommends they work harder at honing their craft.

“Study it. Study it. It’s a craft, and you gotta study it,” she said.

Taraji’s success speaks for itself. She was nominated for an Oscar in 2009 after starring in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” with Brad Pitt and has had notable starring roles in hit films like “Baby Boy,” “Hustle & Flow,” and 2010’s “Karate Kid.”
