The show was given the ax after suffering low ratings three weeks in a row, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The remaining four episodes of the show will air. This comes weeks after NBC's "Playboy Club," another primetime show that featured a Black actress -- Naturi Naughton -- was canned.
In an interview with ESSENCE.com, Ilonzeh said working on the show was "an honor."
