Celebrities Affected by Breast Cancer
"I had breast cancer. Yeah, I know it's scary,” comedienne Wanda Sykes recently revealed.
"I was like, 'I don't know, should I talk about it or what?' How many things could I have? I'm Black, then lesbian. I can't be the poster child for everything.”
Though she jokes about it, Sykes is among a host of African-American celebrities who show us that breast cancer doesn't discriminate.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there's no better way to kick it off than to highlight the famous faces who have not only been affected, but have worked tirelessly to create more awareness of the disease.
