Anderson Cooper Roasts Chris Brown’s New Movie Role

Anderson Cooper puts Chris Brown on his RidicuList.

In a recent episode of his popular CNN show “AC 360”, anchor Anderson Cooper dedicated an entire “Ridiculist” segment to discuss Chris Brown’s recent casting in the new movie “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man”, the best seller written by Steve Harvey.

The movie has been dubbed a romantic comedy, which is one of the first reasons Cooper says he took issue.

“I, for one, cannot imagine why this did not happen sooner, because if there’s one thing you can say about Chris Brown, who’s currently on probation for viciously assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna, he just oozes romance,” Cooper said sarcastically.

Mentions of Chris Brown trashing the set of Good Morning America and hurling gay slurs at paparazzi were also used in Cooper’s justification as to why he feels Chris Brown’s casting was so absurd.

We all know Brown has apologized profusely for all the incidents Cooper mentioned, and it looks like he’s not giving out anymore sorrys.

“I guess some people need ratings,” Brown tweeted in response to news of Cooper’s segment. “LOL!!! Much love.”

ESSENCE.com Real Talk columnist Demetria L. Lucas also took issue with Brown’s new role when the news was first announced.

“I totally understand why his bankable-again name would flutter across a director’s mind for a project,” wrote Lucas. “But I don’t get why he would be offered a role in “Think Like a Man,” a big-screen extension of a brand about helping women find a mate who honors, respects, and appreciates them. Chris Brown is still seen as one of the last people who represents that ideal.”

The majority of our users agreed, though many still offered resounding support for the singer.

Do you think Cooper was out of line?
