President Obama to Speak at MLK Memorial Dedication

President Obama will speak at the Martin Luther King Memorial dedication.

President Obama will celebrate history this month with a special speech at the Aug. 28 Rev. Martin Luther King Memorial dedication.

Held in Washington D.C., the dedication will commemorate the first national memorial for an African-American and non-U.S. president.

Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Jamie Foxx will serve also serve as celebrity co-chairs of the dedication.

With 14 years in the making, the $120 million dollar project marks a major moment in history. “The dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial has been long-awaited, and people from around the world are coming to experience this . . . historic moment,” said Harry E. Johnson Sr., president of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation.
