The "Basketball Wives" franchise heads to Los Angeles for a new season.

It looks like the wives and girlfriends of Miami will no longer have all the fun. The hit series "Basketball Wives" is headed to Los Angeles to chronicle the life and times of Lakers girlfriends and wives. The new franchise will premiere Monday, August 29th at 9pm on VH1.

In the first season, viewers will get to know Kimsha Artest (wife of Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest), Jackie Christie (wife of former Clippers player Doug Christie), Imani Showalter (ex fiancée of Charlotte Bobcats player Stephen Jackson), and Gloria Govan (Matt Barnes’ fiancée). The series will run 10 episodes and follow the women as they try to master balancing life, love, and careers.

Shaunie O’Neal, ex wife of Shaquille, is beefing-up her resume. Shaunie will executive produce the series in addition to the Miami installment she’s already developed.
