If you’re looking for ways to get healthy this spring, consider this our gentle reminder to get back into bed. Sexuality Counselor Ian Kerner, Ph.D, pointed out a few ways that sex supports our health… at AOLhealth.com…
Look younger: Sex helps boost the production of the human growth hormone, says Kerner, which boosts muscle tone, thus taking a few years off.
Feel better: We don’t need an expert to tell us this. Just think back to how happy you felt the last time you and your man had a great roll in the hay.
Stay slim: “On average, sex burns about five calories per minute, depending on your weight,” Kerner says. Enjoy thirty minutes of morning sex and you’ve already burned 150 calories before getting out of bed.
Get well soon: Sex helps boost your immune system. Next time you have the sniffles, you know what to do.
Kerner also pointed out that sex combats stress, fights off heart attacks and helps you live longer. Sign us up for some of that, please.
