We are in the homestretch here at New York Fashion Week. By Day 6, it’s become abundantly clear what the key trends have been this season: pleats, floor-grazing lengths, plaid and bold pops of color. Of the bunch though, one in particular shone brightest in the spotlight: fur!
The polarizing material fortunately — or not — remains a fashion favorite. (PETA continued its fight against it with their recent campaign with Taraji P. Henson.) Vera Wang trimmed her dark, pleated collection with fur shoulders and fur vests. Over at Dennis Basso, fur vests and coats were plentiful, including one very interesting fur skirt.
Barbara Tfank (a favorite of Mrs. Obama) showed us one of the most wearable versions of the trend with a plush, gray leather vest. Overall, we were loving it. But tell us, will you be buying fur when these pieces debut in the fall?
