"He is such a little entertainer," Hudson gushed to People.com. The 29-year-old Grammy-winner also said "Motherhood is the best."
And while Jennifer's own mother is not around to see her daughter's incredible success, Hudson told Oprah Winfrey, on Thursday, that she still tries to make her mother proud.
"I try to do everything to say, 'OK, will my mother like this? Will she be pleased? Will she be proud of that? How do I know she's happy and she's smiling down at me from heaven?" Hudson said. "And that's what I try to go by and walk by."
Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were killed by her estranged brother-in-law in October 2008. The singer and actress says she's not sure if she's begun to heal from the tragedy.
We're sure her mother will be smiling down on her at the Grammy Awards this Sunday when she sings during a tribute to Aretha Franklin. J-Hud and Franklin fans have expressed support for Jennifer to play the Queen of Soul in an upcoming biopic.
"I've been hearing a lot about this lately," she told Access Hollywood. "We met a couple of years ago actually, about I don't know what, but if I get that opportunity I would love it. ...I would be honored."
