Although Prince is in the middle of his hugely successful "Welcome 2 America" tour, he took some time to honor his promise to give back to education. His Purple Highness announced that he would be donating $1.5 million to three very deserving three local New York City schools.

Prince opened up a $1 million line of credit to the Harlem Children's Zone, and a $250,000 line of credit to the Uptown Dance Academy and American Ballet Theatre. According to a press release, he set up these amazing lines of credit so he can remain in involved with the school's needs.

"A function of our love for the next generation is instilling in them our own hard-fought knowledge. We can't wait to see — or only hope for — the future of those coming after us," Prince said. "We must actively take responsibility for ensuring their success."

Kudos to Prince for giving back.
