Today’s topic: Need to Shut My Heart Up
Dear Steve and Shirley,
I have a situation. I don’t really think it’s a problem, but I met this man in high school, we talked for a while, but then we just lost touch then we met back up a few years later. Well in my generation you know that we don’t go together. Instead we give it up too early then we want to work on a relationship and I learned all that from you. But he had some feelings for me, but I never knew so when we were trying to rekindle I had a baby and not to mention that I already had one, but they are both with the same father. I thought that me and the father could work something out so I told him — the man that I was seeing — what had happened and when I did he was outraged because he never said that we were together, so I didn’t think we were or that he was even serious about me. Now I see all the things that he used to do, he doesn’t do anymore. Now we’re just having relations and nothing’s progressing. This has been more than three years. When I say that I think that I should move on he makes a big fuss. I’m confused because I want to show him that I care and that I apologize for the hurt but I’m confused on whether to leave him alone or to stay.
