Christmas may be over but Tyler Perry is still in the giving mood. He’s pledged to rebuild the home of an 88-year-old great-grandmother who lost her Atlanta home in a devastating fire last week. Rosa Lee Ransby lived in her Coweta County, Georgia home for 40 years before it went up in flames. Initially, residents and community officials got into the holiday spirit and stepped up to gather donations to rebuild Ransby’s home. But it wasn’t enough. Just days after the fire, Perry visited Mrs. Ransby and promised to put her up in a temporary home for a year, pay all utilities and get her new furniture — all while rebuilding her a new home. It’s great to see random acts of kindness by people who are touched by their story — if only more celebrities could open their hearts and their pockets to help those in need.
