Steve Harvey Weight-Loss Journey
Steve Harvey's Weight-Loss
When it comes to his weight, Steve Harvey puts all jokes aside. in 2007 the comedian/talk show host decided it was time for a change. A lifetime of unhealthy eating habits coupled with a hectic work schedule had left him tired and unmotivated. That is until he turned 50 and his son called him an "old man." The funnyman took that as a challenge to get youthful again.Harvey teamed up with former Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney, and embarked on a weight-loss journey that has completely changed his life. Recently, he even went on the Martha's Vineyard detox and tried to lose 21 pounds in 21 days.If that's not determination, we don't know what is. Take a look at Harvey's inspiring weight-loss journey.

Beneath his large suits was a pot belly, Harvey told Men's Fitness magazine. "My arms," he said, "were just sitting there--just a piece of meat hanging there, with no curves in them, no definition. And I just got tired of looking at myself that way."
Before dedicating himself to a complete lifestyle overhaul when he turned 50, Harvey says he had tried every fad diet out there, from the grapefruit diet to the cabbage diet.
Harvey began training with eight-time Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney in 2007, one of the best decisions he could have made.
Haney and Harvey developed the "50 and Fly" campaign to encourage middle-aged men to get off the couch and get exercising. "The middle-aged guy that's been sitting around, getting a little fat, getting lazy, not keeping toned, not stretching, stopping at the fast-food joints, making mashed potatoes and lacing everything in butter? I was that guy," said Harvey.
Harvey's weight-loss journey hasn't been easy. "I'm not a gym rat," he said. Added to that is a challenging daily schedule that has him up at 5am and ending his days late into the night.
Harvey credits his wife Marjorie with helping him become a better man, inside and out.
