The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, says she is well and back from a "highly successful surgery." In a statement released to the Associated Press, Franklin says she had "superb doctors and nurses" who cared for her, though she wouldn't say what the surgery was for. She also thanked her fans for their prayers and added that "God is in control." The 68-year-old Detroit native and resident underwent surgery at a local hospital around 5 am yesterday. This comes a month after she announced that she would be canceling all concert dates and appearances until next year on doctor's orders. This past summer, the legendary singer fractured her ribs in a fall and had to cancel two free shows in New York City. We wish "ReRe" a graceful recovery. Leave your well wishes here.
