In recognition of World AIDS Day, five hundred of the industry's most in-demand hairdressers are gathering at the UN today for a symposium kicking-off the launch of "Hairdressers Against AIDS" in America. Started in Africa in 2001, Hairdressers Against AIDS is an advocacy program that empowers stylists to educate their clients and spread awareness of HIV/AIDS. The symposium will feature speakers from the White House and Allure Editor-in-Chief Linda Wells -- who will discuss how to assist hairdressers in their important mission. With superstar hairstylists like Ted Gibson, Edward Tricomi, Johnny Wright and Tracey Cunningham involved in Hairdressers Against AIDS -- one of the largest HIV/AIDS mobilization campaigns in U.S. history -- we can only imagine what the groundbreaking group will accomplish!
