Are you purple and proud today? In honor of the rash of gay teens committing suicide the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has officially declared October 20 Spirit Day. The organization says anyone can take a stand against the bullying of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people by wearing purple today. According to GLAAD, Canadian teen Brittany McMillan created the event as a response to seven gay teens committing suicide in the past few months. Here are three ways you can get in the spirit: 1. Wear purple today. Our editors are sporting purple nail polish and playing Prince's 'Purple Rain" on repeat. 2. Create a purple version of your Facebook page. 3. Turn your Twitter profile purple. How do you plan to take a stand today?
