Mary J. Blige keeps on inspiring us. She's taught us to "Be Happy" and have "No More Drama." Her latest lesson in life is about "Real Love."
The successful singer, businesswoman and philanthropist recently donated $50,000 to Camry Rosairo, a deserving young woman planning to attend Mercy College to pursue a degree in physical therapy.
Blige's Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN), teamed up with the Urban League to present the check during the halftime at Howard University and Morgan State's football game last weekend. Blige said, "It's important for me to give back because I never had the chance to get what I wanted out of the educational system." This wasn't her first partnership with the Urban League. In May, she participated in a panel discussion with 150 young ladies to help empower them. Bliges truly understands giving back to the community and the value in education. "It's what I didn't have," she said during the talk. "But what I did have was a second chance at life." Now, that is keeping it real.
