And most importantly, what collections excited us the most? This is the easiest to answer. Besides the usual suspects (Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg) there were a crop of new (and a few established) designers who blew our socks off. The menswear collections from Telfar and the accessories of Monique Pean were strong, vibrant and did what Fashion Week is supposed to do: make us invigorated about clothes all over again. The most exciting trend of all: designers of color had grown in rank and presence during New York Fashion Week.
