Mary J. Blige Describes New Album as 2011's 'My Life'

Always on top of her game, Mary J. Blige is back in the studio making music. In an interview with MTV News, Blige shared that she is working on a new album which will sound like "'My Life' 2011." ""[It will be] more like What's the 411?, and My Life 2011. It's headed [in] that direction but in a new way. Not what it used to be," said the nine-time Grammy winner. She'll be teaming up with super-producer Swizz Beats to create a sound similar to both albums. If fans are expecting to do a little two-stepping in the club, Blige reveals that the follow-up to 2009's "Stronger With Each Tear," may come with some club tunes. "Right now, it's going in the Mary direction, which is R&B and hip-hop and soul...If it goes into the club direction, it will probably be more soulful than futuristic." In the meantime, Blige will be globetrotting around on a tour this fall with songtress Jazmine Sullivan and Miguel. The concert kicks off October 2 in Mobile, Alabama.
