Every day we feature the beloved “
Strawberry Letter” franchise that is so popular on “
The Steve Harvey Morning Show,” heard nationwide. Send in your letters and Shirley Strawberry will dish out the necessary advice.
Today’s topic: Puzzling comments Dear Steve, I have heard several of your replies to letters and would like to have a male point of view on a situation that happened to me one day. On the way to Vegas, my husband happened to see a female co-worker when we stopped for coffee. He introduced me as his wife and we exchanged greetings. She was cordial and asked where we were headed. He told her where we were going and also bragged a little about the upgrade we received at an upscale hotel because he was so excited about it and also told her that he was looking forward to this much needed getaway. Then she said something that didn’t sit well with me. She looked at us both and questioned him, as if she could not believe we would be sharing a room. She replied, “Together, in the same room?” I was a little taken aback by the comment. Didn’t I just hear my husband introduce me as his wife? I was trying to figure out what problem this woman was trying to start or what she was trying to insinuate. She then commented on how pretty I was, by saying, “Oh and she’s pretty too!” I said, “Thank you,” not sure how to take those comments and excused myself to pick up my coffee. What bothers me about this Steve is the fact that this woman had the audacity to say this. But more so, why did she say it? I had never met her. And you know I could not wait until we got back in the car. I wanted to know if he could provide some insight to those comments she made. He thought I should have ignored it. I thought he should have asked her why she was inquiring about what he would be doing with his own wife. After all, why would anyone question why a married man is sharing a hotel room with his mate? We are actually married. What I want to know is if this had happened to you, how would you have handled it? Sincerely, A Fan Of Your Radio Show.
