Radar 8/16: The Pop Culture Periscope

Once again, we're at the start of another work week. Whether it's dark and gloomy or bright and sunny in your neighborhood today, Radar always provides a reason to smile. Looking back last week was fantastic with a few celebrity birthdays, TV show appearances and red carpet events. If only we can top it, and we will. This week keep an eye out for the legendary Anita Baker on the Mo'Nique Show, the opening of "Lottery Ticket" featuring Loretta Devine, Ice Cube and Bow Wow and Chrisette Michele in Central Park this weekend. It's going to be an exciting week!

Monday, August 16th

TV: Jada Pinkett Smith stops by The Jimmy Fallon Show, NBC 12:35am."The Big C" starring Gabourey Sidibe starts tonight on Showtime at 10:30 pm. Birthday: Angela Bassett turns 52 today. Happy Birthday!

Tuesday, August 17th

TV: T-Boz from TLC stops by the Mo'Nique show. CD: Tierra Marie's latest CD "Sincerely Yours" drops today. Soulja Boy's newest CD "The DeAndre Way" is released today as well.

Wednesday, August 18th

TV: Anita Baker stops by the Mo'Nique Show catch it at 11pm every week night on BET. Dywane Wade on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, on NBC at 11:35pm.

Thursday, August 19th

TV: SNL's Kenan Thompson stops by the Wendy Willams Show for a chat. 50 Cent also makes an appearance at the Jimmy Fallon Show, NBC 12:35 am. Birthday: Romeo celebrates his 21st birthday today.

Friday, August 20th

TV: Wanda Sykes is a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC at 11:35pm. Concert: Usher is waking you up Friday morning. He stops by the Good Morning America Concert series in Central Park in NYC. Movies: "Lottery Ticket" starring Bow Wow, Loretta Devine and Ice Cube opens today.

Saturday, August 21st

Concert: Chrisette Michele, Tamia and Mario all take the stage in Central Park this weekend in NYC.
