Proposition 8 -- the initiative to ban gay marriage in California -- was recently overturned, now legalizing same sex marriage in the state. Following this controversial decision, we hit the pavement in NYC to ask Black women about their opinions on the issue. Take a look at what they had to say when we asked: Do you still think marriage should be sanctioned only between a man and a woman? Or do you think the African-American community should be more supportive of gay marriage as a civil rights struggle? Here's what you had to say: Ashley commented: "I think that the marriage law is based off God's law and that should be sacred and between man and woman." Pennie wrote: "I think gay marriage should be left up to the private sector. That way if a pastor chooses to wed a couple, it's their own doing."
