Closet Envy: Power Broker, Tonya Lewis Lee
Tonya Lewis Lee's first novel, "Gotham Diaries,' co-written with Crystal McCrary-Anthony, explores the world of New York's African-American elite. It's a subject that resonates with the former lawyer who grew up amongst the Black upper class and later became one half of Hollywood royalty when she married famed director Spike Lee in 1993. Needless to say, Lee's profile skyrocketed when she set foot on Hollywood's red carpet. It didn't take long for us to fall head-over-heels in envy with her sophisticated fashion sense. For the mother of two, the key to personal style is simplicity mixed with a healthy dose of eye-catching details. Take, for instance, the seductive frock she recently wore to LaLa Vasquez's wedding to basketball star Carmelo Anthony. Lee's sleek and sexy Lanvin dress was minimalist chic -- save for the architectural ruffles which elevated her look from a run-of-the-mill LBD to fashion-forward. Lee also favors feminine dresses in flower prints or bright hues for both day and night. Although when it comes to day looks, more often than not, Lee turns to preppy basics like khakis, T-shirts and shirts for classic but hip vibe. No matter what she has on, Lee always exudes class and hardly ever misses the mark. Take a peek inside Tonya Lee's closet and discover a woman whose sartorial choices leave us wanting more.
