Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor is charged with third-degree rape and patronizing a prostitute, according to USA Today. Authorities in Ramapo, New York, said a 16-year-old girl was beaten by a Bronx pimp, then sent to Taylor's hotel room at a nearby Holiday Inn at 3:55 am Thursday morning. The Pro Football Hall of Famer allegedly paid the girl $300 for sex, police say. She later sent a text message to her uncle, who immediately contacted the New York Police Department. Taylor was a 10-time All-Pro linebacker for the New York Giants. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999, played 13 seasons in the league, and won two Super Bowl rings. His bail was set at $75,000 and a hearing is scheduled for June 10. If convicted, Taylor could face up to five years in prison. He is currently out on bail and has pleaded not guilty, according to his attorney.
