Just in time for Valentine's Day comes a film called...well, "Valentine's Day." Opening tomorrow, "Valentine's Day" is a virtual snapshot of a day in the life of love and features an all-star line-up whose lives are all intertwined in the most everyday situations. Ironically, it seems that everyone is connected via a helpless romantic by the name of Reed (Ashton Kutcher) who just so happens to be a florist.
Among the cast of characters is Kelvin Moore (Jamie Foxx), an on-the-rise sportscaster with very little interest in the sappy traditions of Valentine's Day. In fact, when asked to express his feelings about the holiday, the self-professed player responds, without pause, "It gives me acid reflux." But no one's heart is colder than sports agent, Paula Thomas, played by Queen Latifah. Her coworkers refer to her as "Bipolar Paula," but little do they know that she's found a new hobby, one in which she indulges at night, at the office. While we would have loved
to see more of Foxx and Latifah, we have to admit that "Valentine's Day's" message still rang true. Love definitely makes the world go around and no matter how small, or cynical, the world may seem, our sole mission is to keep our hearts open, wide.
