Here's another reason for us to celebrate our booties and thick thighs. Health experts in the UK say being bootylicious is a good thing. According to BBC, carrying a little extra fat in your lady lumps helps protect against heart and metabolic problems. Apparently the fat on your hips, butt and thighs helps collect bad fatty acids and contains an anti-inflamatory component that stops your arteries from clogging.

According to the BBC report, the fat around your humps is harder to shake than the fat around the waist. Furthermore, waist fat does not serve the same protective function as the fat below the belt.

"It is shape that matters and where the fat gathers," Oxford University's Dr. Konstantinos Manolopoulos. "Fat around the hips and thighs is good for you but around the tummy is bad."

So, as Sir Mixalot said, "You can do side bends or sit ups, but please don't lose that butt."
