No 'Favorite Things' Show for 'Oprah'

UPDATE 11/25/09: Oprah's full of surprises these days. it 'Oprah Winfrey' will not air the annual 'Favorite Things' show, that sends every audience member home with a goodie bag full of items Winfrey promotes during the segment, this week, as it's not in the line-up, according to Huffington Post. It's possible she was slowly letting the special fall off last year when she put on a 'Favorite Things with a thrifty twist' show last year, in light of the recession.

The popular segment's shining moments include a 'Favorite Things' with an audience full of Hurricane Katrina survivors.

Oprah Sheds a Tear For Show's End 

UPDATE 11/20/09: TMZ posted a video of a teary-eyed Oprah addressing her supporters about ending 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' and about 'Season 25' of the historic Daytime TV program. 

"I love this show ... this show has been my life and I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye. 25 years feels right in my bones and my spirit. It's the perfect number, the exact right time," she said.

Gayle: 'Don't Worry About Oprah' 

UPDATE 11/20/06: 
The media-sphere is buzzing over Oprah's news of ending her groundbreaking talk show on its 25th anniversary in September 2011. People talked to a few friends and colleagues of the media goddess, who is starting her own cable network (OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network) in partnership with Discovery Communications. 

Best Friend Gayle King Said: "I think that Oprah always makes the best decision for herself. I really do. And I have a feeling she will come up with some things to do. She has a very full life ... We don't need to worry about her filling her time, I promise you that! Life is good for her."

No More 'Oprah' Come 2011

UPDATE 11/20/09: TMZ has obtained a letter sent to the staff of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show,' sharing the news with them first that Oprah will not continue doing the show come 2011, when her TV deal is done.

"Tomorrow, Oprah will announce live on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' that she has decided to end what is arguably one of the most popular, influential and enduring programs in television history. The sun will set on the "Oprah" show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011.

"We welcome you to share this news this evening with your colleagues and viewers. As we all know, Oprah's personal comments about this on tomorrow's live show will mark an historic television moment that we will all be talking about for years to come."

Oprah's Mum on What She'll Do After TV Deal Is Up

Oprah Winfrey's current deal with CBS will expire in 2011 and her production company, Harpo, states that she is still deciding what she'll do at that point. Winfrey first signed the syndication deal for The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1986.

Oprah has spoken of retiring a few times, but many think she's simply renegotiating her extension contract. It is also rumored that she may plan to bring her show to her network, OWN.

Winfrey has promised she'll announce her intentions by the end of the year.
