Veronica Webb Dishes on Road Running Secrets

Model Veronica Webb is making moves off the catwalk. The style icon is preparing to race in the New York City ING-sponsored 26.2 mile marathon this Sunday and spills the beans on how she prepared for the long run with Women's Wear Daily. Webb, who will be running for Team Apollo and HarlemUnited.org, revealed that she has actually wanted to compete in the marathon for the last 15 years.

The groundbreaking tastemaker (who has been romantically linked to Newark, New Jersey mayor Corey Booker) told the paper that her longtime friend Oz Garcia put her on a meal plan to prepare for the race. Webb's new diet includes antioxidant-rich fruits like kiwi and papaya, along with Omega-3 oil friendly fish such as salmon and tuna. Complaining and drinking alcohol are two vices Webb has sacrificed in training mode for the big event but the tunes of Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Robin Thicke and Kanye West are on heavy rotation in her playlist these days. How does Webb plan to celebrate once the race is over? A pedicure and margarita of course.
