President Barack Obama will spend some time in New York City today, where he will meet with Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and key members of the Joint Terrorism Task Force, who recently helped foil a planned terrorist attack on the city.
But perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the President’s trip to the Big Apple will be African-American Democratic mayoral candidate William Thompson, who is running an uphill race against incumbent and filthy rich Mayor Mike Bloomberg in the November 3 election. Obama is expected to make his first public comments about Thompson at a $30,400 per couple cash soiree at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.—ZH
