White House: Saves 250,000 Teaching Jobs

A new report called the "Educational Impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act," out today, reveals that money from the $787 billion stimulus package has helped to save or create 250,000 education jobs across the country. According to a release by the White House, this stimulus is having positive impact on our economy, but education is "one of the areas that might be felt even more directly by families than most--in the short and long terms." Some schools have used the funds to increase the number of teaching positions, reduce class sizes and provide funding for low-income students and students with disabilities.-Tanisha Sykes
