Actor/singer Tyrese Gibson is being blamed for taking too much creative license. The “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” star sang the national anthem at Game 5 of the NBA’s Western Conference finals and switched out the words “our flag was still there” with “our Lakers were still there,” according to E!News.com.
The rendition was followed by boos. Gibson, who was scheduled for events the next day, Twittered that he was feeling “sick” due to a sudden unexplained illness. Lakes Executive VP Jeanie Buss also Twittered that some people are upset with Gibson changing the words to the anthem but “no disrespect intended.”—WLW
