Several African-Americans made Time magazine’s coveted 100 World’s Most Influential People List. Joining President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are John Legend, Tavis Smiley, “The View” cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd, Alvin Ailey Artistic Director Judith Jamison, environmental activist Van Jones, and Oprah Winfrey, of course, just to name a few. Time hosts a star-studded event each year commemorating the list, and ESSENCE.com editor Bridgette Bartlett will be on the red carpet. Be sure to come back Wednesday for her full recap.—ZH
