DKNY: Fashion for Philanthropy

Comments

It seems fashion houses everywhere are hitting the "green" scene. Designer, Donna Karan recently launched her own collection of limited edition t-shirts under her sister company, Urban Zen, which mixes both commerce and philanthropy. The collection features a series of bamboo and organic cotton t-shirts ($65 each) that are sold exclusively on Tonic.com. Ten percent of every sale will go to The Urban Zen Foundation and The Tonic Foundation (the leading media, ecommerce, and community site focused on effortless activism and social good).

All four t-shirts feature solutions and actions implemented by The Urban Zen Foundation: Well Being, Save Our Planet, Preserving Cultures and Future for Our Children. "The t-shirts are great because, aside from benefiting a cause close to my heart, they each feature a distinctive call to action," said Donna Karan. "Urban Zen and Tonic were both founded to bring philanthropy and commerce together to raise awareness and inspire change, and this collaboration with Tonic is precisely that."
