Obama’s Stimulus: Why Women and Minorities Are Fearful

 


President Obama’s executive order pushing for union contractors for federal projects of $25 million or more, has non-union minority and female workers worried they will be left out, according to the Miami Herald. Currently 85 percent of construction workers are not members of unions, and the majority of those who are members are White males. Black and women comprise 11 percent of America’s construction laborers and three percent of iron and steel employees. —CJ
