Susan Tsvangirai, the wife of Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister, was killed last Friday in a car accident that also sent her husband, Morgan Tsvangirai, and their driver to the hospital, according to CNN.com. Married since 1978, they have six children.
The 50-year-old First Lady and her husband were on their way to a weekend
rally in the Prime Minister’s home region when tragedy struck. Tsvangirai made international news when he unseated Robert Mugabe who had been the country’s Prime Minister since they gained independence from Britain in 1980. Tsvangirai was once beaten up and nearly thrown from a 10th floor window by thugs allegedly hired by government insiders.
