Perhaps Senator Roland Burris should have let well enough alone. The Illinois senator who replaced President Barack Obama in the Senate has drawn even more criticism in the last few weeks since he disclosed that there was indeed some discourse between the defamed former Governor Rod Blagojevich and himself prior to his appointment as senator. Now, Darrel Thompson, Burris’s chief of staff, has stepped down in wake of the controversy, according to MSNBC.com. Thompson is the second top aide to leave Burris, who lost his communications director last week.—WLW
