President Obama: Millions Watched Him on Television

Comments

Americans were looking to a different hero Monday night. Bypassing the lure of shows like NBC’s “Heroes” and Fox’s “24,” an estimated 49.5 million people were more interested in watching President Barack Obama’s first prime-time press conference instead, according to the Associated Press. The conference was televised on eight networks including several cable outlets but the numbers don’t reflect the amount of people who watched Monday’s televised speech on the Internet. To date, the most watched U.S. telecast of year is when 95.4 million Americans tuned into the Super Bowl when the the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals on Feb 1.—WLW
