Ty Warner, CEO of Ty Inc., the toy company responsible for the “Marvelous Malia” and “Sweet Sasha” Beanie Babies dolls allegedly fashioned after the First Daughters has had a change of heart when it comes to using their names to peddle his products, according to the Associated Press. The dolls are now being called “Marvelous Mariah” and “Sweet Sydney.” This after the First Lady’s press secretary released a statement last week indicating that Mrs. Obama felt this was an inappropriate use of her daughter’s names for marketing purposes. Warner insists that the dolls were never intended to represent the First Daughters, but went ahead and made the change anyway. –WLW
