Georgia National Guard Gets First Black General

 

The Georgia National Guard promoted its first African-American to general, according to MyFoxAtlanta.com. General Joe Wells is a pilot for Continental Airlines and flies the Boeing 777 but will now go to Arizona to serve as the Deputy Command General of the U.S. Army Intelligence Center. He will be in charge of 9,000 men and women serving the Georgia National Guard. -WLW
