MLK Sibling Squabble: Judge Takes Sides

Comments

This couldn't have been part of their father's dream: An Atlanta-area judge ordered that two children of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., must share some of the legal costs of the brother they are battling in court, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The judge also blamed Martin Luther King, III, and his sister, the Reverend Bernice King, for slowing up the outcome of their fight with brother Dexter King.

The newspaper says last week's ruling "is the latest episode in a long-running family drama that turned into a court battle this year over the late civil rights leader’s estate."

The two siblings filed suit against their brother, claiming he is mishandling funds and hiding documents from them.
