Local Chicago organizers are hoping to put an end to community violence and destruction surrounding the city¹s young men. Phillip Jackson, director of the Black Star Project, teamed up with several local pastors to take back the community. The group is reaching out to local churches to pull men ages two to 32 back into the church and out of the streets, reports the Chicago Tribune. The initiative, which is called “Take a Black Boy to Church,” includes the participation of 22 churches and will include Sunday youth services starting December 21.
