As many as four million people are expected to attend President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration next month, and with most of the ceremony being outdoors, measures are being taken to assure the entire Obama family’s personal safety. The inauguration will include more than 11,000 U.S. troops, some 4,000 local police, 4,000 police officers from around the country and security agents from other government agencies will be on hand, taking direction from the Secret Service, according to the AP. There will also be 7,500 active duty military and 4,000 National Guard troops slated to participate by guarding the parades and other events.
