Top model Chanel Iman links arms with actress Nia Long to prove that beauty is more than skin deep. The duo will sponsor a holiday celebration this Saturday for The HerShe Group Foundation, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that aims to empower girls in foster care and those who have been recently emancipated.
After a conversation with Long, an advocate and volunteer for the group, Iman and her mother were compelled to get involved. Iman and Long will kick off the weekend with the HerShe bowling event, where the girls will receive special gifts. The festivities will end with a trip to the Disneyland Resort. “The girls are very excited about the HerShe holiday event, because for many of them, the gifts that we give them will be the only gifts they receive this holiday season. Why should children in foster care have anything less?” says Kenadie Cobbin Richardson, founder and executive director of The HerShe Group. To get involved, visit Hershegroup.org.
